Call for Papers: Pleanáil 2013

The Irish Planning Institute publishes “Pleanáil” which is the only journal on planning theory, research and professional planning practice published in Ireland. The IPI is seeking high-quality, evidence-based research for the 2013 edition of Pleanáil.

Submission Information:  Closing date for receipt of papers is 4pm Wednesday 20th February 2013.
Please send submissions to the editor, Emma Pillion MIPI at e.pillion@ipi.ie.
All text must be fully double spaced and in 12 point Garamond type and referenced in the Harvard style. All pages must be numbered. Do not justify right hand margins. Manuscripts should be saved in MS Word.doc or .docx format. Images should be submitted separately with position indicated in soft copy containing text. If the submission is highly dependent on images please contact the editor to confirm that sufficient quality can be maintained.

IPI Young Planner of the Year Award 2012 & IPI Student Awards 2012

The Irish Planning Institute held their annual dinner in the Clarence Hotel, Dublin 1 on November 9th, 2012. At the dinner the Institute presented a number of awards to students and recent graduates to commend them for their work within the planning system.

The IPI awarded the inaugural Young Planner of the Year Award to Amy Hastings for her important work in both her planning practice and with the IPI. Two other young planners Colin Broderick and Aoife Doyle were shortlisted for the award and presented with certificates. All nominees were commended for their contribution to the planning system.

Also awarded on the night were student awards to DIT and UCC. DIT students won for their work on Greencastle SDZ which was completed between September and December 2011 by the 4th year Spatial Planning class as part of the masterplanning module. UCC students won an award for their project The Gowran Village Appraisal and was completed by a group of second year MPlan students.

IPI Young Planner of the Year Award 2012
